Redevelopment of the Residence of the German ambassador
The residence of the German ambassador in London is located in the Belgravia district at the corner of Belgrave Square and Chesham Place and is directly adjoining the chancellery. The building was constructed around 1820 in Victorian style plastered masonry as part of a group of buildings around Belgrave Square. For the facade as well as for the interior are applying highest requirements regarding the monument protection. Based on these specific requirements and considering the complex escape route situation OLIVER GERHARTZ Architekten created a concept for physical security. This is also including all coordination with the client, the planning of the surveillance camera system as well as the planning and construction-related updating of the security concept. The entire redevelopment of the building will take place in several construction phases and is planned to be completed at the end of 2022.
