Construction of a container as an office space on the German embassy compound
On a short notice space requirements for the implementation of the programme for recording and intake of refugees in the German embassy in Ankara were to be created. The expected increased demand of back-office work area was covered by a temporary installation of office containers. The office containers were situated within the enclosure of the site, on the secure compound of the embassy, on a sloping area, surrounded by and adjusted to existing protected trees. The whole planning and construction period was very short - ca. 4 months. That included among other things, coordination of the construction with a Turkish container company, connection of heating, sanitary services and electrical services to the existing system, coordination with the authorities and obtaining building permit and fire-safety planning.
