Redevelopment of the Residence of the German ambassador in Khartoum
The residence of the German ambassador in Khartoum was built in 1978 in the cubist style. Located near the confluence of White and Blue Nile, the property opens up to the river bank. After more than fourty years of intensive use, the building and the various outbuildings are no longer in an up-to-date condition, both technically and in terms of physical security. As a result of an awarding process, OLIVER GERHARTZ Architekten in consortium with TSSB architekten.ingenieure were commissioned as general planner with the complete renovation of the property including the guard building and jetty in the Nile as well as the renovation of the outbuildings. The planning team also includes GEFA Ingenieure for building services and GSE Ingenieur-Gesellschaft for structural engineering, both from Berlin, as well as ISKAN Architects from Khartoum.
